The objective of Thuasne Ligaflex Thumb Brace is to limit pain and stabilise the joint(s) in the desired therapeutic position while maintaining mobility in the adjacent zones. The wrist is made up of several joints giving it a high level of flexion or extension and abduction or adduction mobility. The most common cause of wrist injury is a fall or twist, which can cause a mild or severe sprain, fracture or dislocation. The wrist can also suffer from osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease that primarily affects the thumb (basal thumb arthritis). Wrist, thumb and/or wrist-thumb immobilization splints hold one or more joints in a resting position. This allows consolidation and healing.
