Description
Doxiproct rectal ointment is used for the treatment of hemorrhoids / piles. It contains calcium dobesilate and lidocaine. Calcium dobesilate which is a vasoprotective medicine which works on the walls of the small blood vessels and reduces their leakage and fragility also improves blood flow by decreasing viscosity of blood, thereby relieving inflammation (redness and swelling) in piles/hemorrhoids and promoting healing. Lidocaine helps to relieve pain and swelling. The veins around the anus tend to stretch under pressure and may bulge or swell. Hemorrhoids can develop from increased pressure in the lower rectum. Doxiproct plus rectal ointment helps to ease out the pain, swelling and itching at the anal site.

HOW TO USE
- Use as prescribed by your Doctor only.
- General dosage: Apply 2-3 times daily, in the morning and at bedtime apply, if possible after defecation.
- If the ointment is preferred, use the applicator by screwing it to the tube. Insert the applicator as deep as possible in the anus then press gently the tube while withdrawing it. In this case, the tube is sufficient for 8 applications
- In case of external hemorrhoids or anal pruritus, apply a thin layer of the ointment several times a day
- The duration of the treatment is generally of few days.
- The doctor must be informed if, after 1or 2 weeks of treatment, the symptomatology has not improved.
